BACKGROUND

Junior Software Engineers have been having a tough time getting their foot in the Technology sector. Several factors attribute for this but chief amongst them is the fact that the World Economy is approaching a recession. Various countries in Europe and North America are facing high-inflation rates which has impacted consumer’s purchasing power and there has been a steady increase in the prices of both public utilities and housing. Corporations have responded by laying off staff, various FAANG companies has done so and the only exception (though minor) has been Apple.

In all these, there has been an increased competition for jobs, and we are now in the Employers market whereby over-qualified people are willing to take entry-level jobs denying those who are truly entry-level/recent graduates to have a foot in the door. You would see in various job descriptions the vast eligibility – junior, mid, senior engineers. It is almost impossible for those three bands of people to submit applications for the same job and the Junior Engineer would be selected. The other engineers are called Mid-Level or Senior for a purpose. Senior Engineers should compete with other Seniors while Juniors should compete with other Juniors. However, this is far from the case and the former scenario is now commonplace. It is a rational expectation of Capitalism, and it is the problem juniorengineer is trying to solve.

This is an application that fetches for just Junior Level Software Engineering jobs from a jobs API using various parameters. With this site, Junior Engineers or recent graduates can find jobs that they qualify for and would be out-of-place for both Mid-level and Senior Engineers to apply for.
